Reading Essentials : By a 15 year old, for young adults

When a 15 year old sends his list you politely thank him even if it contains books that you suspect might be more suited for older people. You thank him for being a reader. You thank him for fighting hard for his reading rights. You thank his parents for letting him read according to his free will, and not being an omnipresent censor board. We have enough of those. So here goes a list for the evolved readers:

A Song of Ice and Fire Series (Game of thrones) by George R. R. Martin Very interesting take on the politics and perils of running a kingdom & war. Showcases interesting and realistically portrayed human nature and desire and serves as an insight on the lives of people. Filled with Interesting plot twists, conniving characters and most important of all – Dragons. Unexplained mysteries also help intensify the mystery of the novel and the reader is constantly hooked to know what happens next in this action packed drama.

Endgame by Jemes Frey  – Interesting. Keeps the reader thinking. Connected to a bigger story and the mystery continues into real life. Enthralling hook.

Septimus Heap by Angie Sage. Wizard apprentice series. Book 1 – An interesting mystery as the main character dies in the first 5 pages intensifying the plot line and story; that is also provided with an exciting magical twist, with the best (maybe predicable) plot twist ever.

Calvin & Hobbes by Bill Watterson  – Provides comic relief to the day.

Neurocomics by Matteo Farinella  – Conveys the complexities of the human mind through simple and flowing illustrations.

Thank you, Rehaan for taking the time out and sharing your favourites with us, and thank you Ritu, for being our correspondent, and raising a perfect, well-fed bookworm!
